From the ashes of Tolarno rises... Barney Allen's

The painted red walls, framed versions of Tolarno's old frescoes, several familiar faces, the barrel, and Elvis Costello in the background were there when Zombie and Dub walked into Barney Allen's - Iain Hewitson's new joint on Fitzroy St, St Kilda, next door to the Pelican. The man himself was at the bar, with an evil glint in his eye. We looked at the menu and a few seconds of scanning told us all we needed to know.

THE TOLARNO BURGER HAS RETURNED!

The bun has changed somewhat - now wider and lighter than before. It's a lot easier to get through so you will be able to walk rather than waddle away at the end of the experience. However, make no mistake friends, this burger is every bit as good as the original.

It's been a few long wintry months since this burger was last seen around these parts but the minute's silence given at the St Kilda charity cup has proven to be premature.

Verdict : VERY VERY TASTY

  • Barney Allen’s

    Dub and Zombie salient observations.

    It is red.

The old barrels are still here. The barrel is poetic: its presence invites the patron to reminisce… no Pete I will not take that out, it’s what you said.

    Nyyaaaa hahahahahahaha

You’re going to write that aren’t you. You’re pissed Matt on so little beer its not funny. You’re a lightweight, a girl. What are you writing?

It’s a different burger. The bun is wider; the pattie is the same.
